okay so anime has gotten liek rlly popular over teh past few years and im sure u gaiz hav noticed. its awesum! its a lot moar detailed than cartoon like we have in, bleck America, and its really deep and have a wide variety of characters and stories to choose from. its funny, its sweet, its cool, its everything u could evar want in art. Becuz if anime isnt art, then tell me whut is. so now in this installment of "How To" im going 2 show u gaiz how 2 become a lot more suckseskfull in going on ur path to becomin an epik mangaka. ^^

1. Age The younger u start, the better off u'll be. In fact, a lot more younger ppl today r into manga and anime mor than older pplz. Ages from liek 12 to 16 r the most ideal for dis since ppl are most imaginative and creative at that age. The younger you start, the more time u will hav to practice and make ur work perfect. (^__^)

2. Inspiration you probably want 2 be a mangaka becuz of how awesome the works that inspired you were rite? well, thats good. all teh best animez r stuff like Inuyasha, Naruto, Bleach, Fruits Basket, etc. the popularity of the anime in question is a sure sign of quality. Remember, the moar ppl know about said anime, the better it probably is. If the main characters arnt colorful, big eyed, cute, and happy, then it isn't real anime. Stuff liek One Piece and DN Angel and what its all about. Its real. Stay away from stuff liek Hellsing or Ergo Proxy or Paranoia Agent. its obscure for a reason. If it was good in the first place, more people would do fanart of it and do comics and talk about it moar. but since a lot of ppl dont know about hem as much as they do naruto or fruits basket, they cant be very good. Stuff like Bleach and Inuyasha and pita Ten and good because they r cute and funny and make ppl smile. Stuff liek Gantz, Ghost in the Shell, or Akira is too scary and dark and its not what real anime iz about.theyre not happy!! theyre just confusing and too violent. they dont even make sense people11!! @__@

3. Anime is Real Art Anime is real art ppl!! dont let anyone tell u otherwise!!! in fact, who watches American cartoons anymore? That stuff is 4 babiez! It's not original and its not very detailed. Its not as "deep" as anime and manga and the characters are way uglier. Same with comic books. The women look liek men and the guys are too muscular and its gross. Anime is the most balanced choice and its a lot moar colorful than western stuff. ppl who prefer western cartoons to japanese anime arent very cultured and you shouldnt follow the crowd and let them put u down.

4. Haters A lot of ppl may tell u that becomin a mangaka is an "unrealistic job." That's bullshit! Anyone can do it with time and effort and practice! if youve watched a lot of anime, read a lot of manga, and spend a lot of time drawin, u can make it! Those people are just jealous because you have a dream and still have time to fulfill it while theyre stuck at boring jobs behind desks like doin office work or drawing ugly western comics. dont let them keep u down. you can make it if u just keep tryin. youve probably watched FAR more anime than them and kno what u r doin.
They dont. thats why they think american comics r better. which theyre not. if u dont have anythin nice 2 say u shouldnt say it!11 >:C

5. Japan Japan is a rlly great country. If anyone says something bad about it, they're just ignorant. It's a lot better than a lot of other countries, ESPECIALLY the U.S. Woman and girls are very loved there and people smile a lot more. Just look at the animes! Come ON PPL!! Japan invented POCKY!!! HOW COOL IS THAT???? And ANIME!!! and it has way better technology and rides and art and animation and and and sushi and and the language is really cool. They also make the best videogames11!! Stuff like Mario and Pokemon and Kingdom Hearts. Theyre really diverse and exotic in a lot of stuff they do. And its surrounded by WATER. thats even cooler!! the only reason other asian countries dont get this much attention is becuz theyre jealous that they didn't do all the stuff that japan did. China is dirty and the language is weird-soundin and Korea is communist and thats really bad. Japan is just right. Its a lot bettar than the U.S. and besides, it has a lot less problems. The women is da US are treated liek crap with all the sex and drugs and rap videos and stuff. Japan is a lot better. the boys are also a lot hotter over there. Gackt is far better than anythin Elvis could have done. Hikaru Utada and Ayumi Hamasaki r also da best. u should go listen to them if u havent already11!!1 its a lot betetr than American sex rap and rock. cuz Japan is a lot more clean and respekful. ^_^
dont worry about gettin there. if you love your dream enough, it will happen. watching anime has already helped and you should make an effort to practice with the ppl around u, even if they dont speak japaneese. saying stuff liek "kawaii" and "sugoi" may be simple, but its a start and helps in the long run. dont pay attention to ppl who look at u weird or say bad things 2 u. they ar closed-minded and just dont wanna learn anythin outside their precious "rap" culture. Just keep followin your dream and youll eventual get where u want to go. ^^

6. Drawing A lot of ppl might put u down at first for following your dream but just ignore them. You'll be in a better place soon enough. And by better place, I mean JAPAN, DUH!!! what place could be better than that??? only listen to people who say NICE things 2 you. dont listen to stuff like, "this looks wrong" or "you need to make the eyes smaller." they dont kno what theyre talkin about. anime is DIFFERENT and thats why it looks the way it does. you can have more freedom and thats what makes it so speshul. the eyes have to be really big and shiny to show more about the characters personality. remember: the bigger the eyes, the more personality and emotion they have!11 Also, feel free 2 make the hair any color u want, its YOUR characters after all, NOBODY ELSE'S!! Dont let them take that away from you!111
Makes sure the girls have smaller mouths so they dont end up looking stupid like cartoons and make sure that the guys arent -too- muscular cuz then it looks rlly bad okay? thats why asian guys r so much hotter,( they dont have too many muscles and they have great hair ^^)._{besides, western guys r just too hairy, ew. also, anime guyz r hotter than cartoon guys and anime girls are prettier than cartoon girls becuz they dont make stupid overexaggerated facial expressions liek in cartoons and stuff and theyre a lot more detail and better lookin, or did i say that before? well maybe i did becuz its TRUE!!}

Also, I don't hate the U.S., I don't think Japan is heaven, and I like a few animes myself. I am not trying to discourage people from pursuing an art career or becoming graphic novelists. Although it can be difficult, you don't HAVE to move to Japan to be a manga artist. There are manga publishing companies in the US. The only one I can think of off tehran top of my head is Oni Press, the company that published scott pilgrim, but you can get your manga published in America. Besides, do you have any idea how high their standards are in Japan? The Japanese are more disciplined then Americans are and are expected to get more manga drawing done.
