Artist's Comments
It just seems so appropriate right now.
EDIT: Judging by some of the comments, some of you are taking this too seriously. Please. Don't. Also, stop leaving the same comments like, "you'll miss it when you're an adult and working, etc." or say "Without school you'll become a worthless piece of society." I realize school is important, I've had it ingrained into me every day of my life from my mother. Calm the fuck down. This stamp is just a bit of after summer/before school fun. And, yes, I have attempted working for 8 dollars an hour. I realize it's not fun. And, yes, I realize some people like school/college what-have-you or that you dislike a lot of things but not everything about school. Stop telling me this. Just...I know, I know, children. I know. EDIT2: For those of you who keep commenting about jobs. [link] Just. For. You. EDIT3: To those of you saying, "you're just being an angsty teenage baby and a sociopath that hates the system and High School/school was one of the best years of my life, grow up." Guess what? I'm not going to miss the racism. I'm not going to miss almost getting my ass kicked for having differing political views. I'm not going to miss people getting beat up just because they didn't wear Hollister or the right sandals. I'm not going to miss the bus fights. I'm not going to miss being treated like shit just for appearances. I'm not going to miss people who treated others like shit just because they weren't "athletic" enough or "pretty" or cheerleaders. I'm not going to miss teachers turning a blind eye to mistreatment when it went on in the same room. I'm not going to miss being punished for the stupidity of others. I'm not going to miss the stupid pranks. I'm not going to miss watching new kids get harassed for stupid reasons just because they sat alone. I'm not going to miss the theft. I'm not going to miss the people who turned a blind eyes and said "ew" when you were bleeding just because you weren't their friend or "popular." And I'm sure as fuck not going to miss being called "weird" or whatever by people who didn't even know you or talk to you when you said nothing for the longest time. And I'm not going to miss people treating me like shit because I was too "quiet." And I'm sure as hell not going to miss all the stupid little asshats that merely parroted the political views of their parents. And, honestly? Do you think that just "sociopathic" kids hate High School? Really? Because I'm know quite a few people more than ten years older than myself who never looked back and hated every fucking year of it. (Although some of them took more of a liking to college). And if you view High School/Middle School/whatever School as the best years of your life, WOW, ain't you just fuckin' lucky? Because I totally control all racism targeted towards me. I totally control people treating me like shit because I looked a certain way despite the fact that I was only a few days into the year and they didn't even know me and I'd barely said anything to anyone. I totally control people making sarcastic comments in front of my face just because I have a differing taste or view. I TOTALLY CONTROL complete strangers fucking with my shit just because I'm related to someone they don't like. I TOTALLY CONTROL watching friends get treated like dogs and pushed around by some fuckers who took advantage of their kindness and willingness to help out. I TOTALLY CONTROL people insulting me to my face just because of something superficial even after I tried being friendly to them the entire time. Yeah, how well things went were TOTALLY CONTROLLED by me one-hundred motherfucking percent. Oh, and I'm well aware a lot of the stuff I described occurs outside of school as well, but within school everything's more immature. I just hope that with college soon on the horizon, things will look up soon. From what I've heard, I don't want to be disappointed. EDIT4: I had no fucking idea this stamp would be so popular or that so many people would take it so fucking seriously. Or that it would end up on the front page. A lot of you are looking way too into this. I understand education is incredibly important in this ever-changing, rapidly growing world and we need it to be something and I surely don't plan on dropping out any time soon. But really. Just calm the hell down. Three words and all this. Any more of this and I'm gonna disable comments. Which would be a kind of shame because I see some interesting conversations going on below. EDIT5: To those who say the high school years were best of their lives...really? When there's so much more out there than that superficial little world? So much more than prom and sports teams and all the petty bullshit. And you say we're pathetic? From what I've been through and from some very intelligent people that I respect and look up to, high school was one of the biggest jokes they had to endure. And has it ever occurred that maybe some of us don't exactly have the same lives as some of you and that maybe we'd rather get out and have been eagerly awaiting the day when we can leave our situation? Even if it means paying taxes, working harsh hours, struggling financially, not living with parents/guardians or whoever the fuck it is? I don't know what type of apparently fucking wonderful youth years you had but not everyone has fucking experienced it. Not everybody gets to go home to their fucking mommies and daddies who wuv them forever and buy them cars on their fucking 16th birthdays and get their kids whatever they ask for. You think just because someone is young their world only consists of partying, not paying taxes, not working, and complaining about how so-and-so dumped them? Is that what you think? Yeah, those kids exist all over (another reason for me to hate HS) but to assume that every single youth has it "good" and "you young'uns don't understand how good you have it, your youth is wonderful, school is wonderful, your parents are wonderful, you spoiled little bastards, etc." And, yes, I realize where I live that a lot of people have it far better than many living around the globe. I also realize being truly independent can be difficult work and it will require a lot of time, money, and effort and much more but sometimes it's a better option than other things.
