Seriously. Now we've got all these people thinking that vampires:
1) Were never weak against crucifixes/holy objects.
2) Garlic what?
3) Never had the ability to turn into bats or shapeshift in any way or form.
4) Bram Stoker who?
5) Are all gorgeous, byronic, angsty glittery people who just need some teenage lovin'.

Edit: Do I think vampires are the uber coolest mythical beings ever invented? It honestly depends on how they're portrayed but I'm not sure I'd say they were my favorite. It's more the idea/rep of vampires that Twilight kinda helped to push over the edge. I'm not saying that Twilight was the one to start it, it was kinda heading there for a while. But due to the series reaching new levels of mainstream popularity and that all the airheads that gobble up whatever it has to say, yes. It landed the final blow and pretty much decimated it.


Edit: I don't think all Twilight fans are overzealous fools. Just a good deal of them.
