Artist's Comments

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING SO THE SAME SHIT CAN BE AVOIDED

Stop saying "most are" or "yes they are" for the last time. I've seen it like fifty times on here already....

Also, if you could refrain from flaming/general impoliteness, that would be appreciated. Already have enough of that for one stamp.

EDIT: Changed it to "fan" instead of fangirl. When I first made this I meant fangirl as in "fan who is female" but apparently it had more "obsessive" connotations to many. So I replaced it with fan, the non-overzealous kind and hey, now guys can use it, too. :D

EDIT 2: Also, a slight reminder from =Nimbose, het fans can be just as bad but for some reason yaoi/slash fans get the brunt of it. And she's right.
"All they know is that I like Yaoi, and that makes me dumb in their eyes."

EDIT 3: It's pretty sad to see so many people still dissing on slash fans even when I've met some pretty cool artists on this site that were slash fans. Basically the mentality seems to be, judging from some of the more negative comments I've received on this, "Automatically liking slash/yaoi makes you a zombie and your personality has nothing to do with it even if you draw other equally awesome works and have a life outside of it. But that doesn't matter because you're still a drooling, over-obsessed retard simply because you have a preference for slash."

That's basically the vibe I'm getting from some of these.

EDIT 4: Saying "yes they are" or "I strongly disagree" isn't anything new. You can stop saying that now. I already more than a fair share of those on this. :|

BIGASS EDIT 5:
I think I'll keep comments on to prove my point. You say yaoi/slash fans are mindless and enjoy shoving their likes down others throats. But that's not who I see doing it in the comment section. I see people who don't even watch me bashing this despite the fact that they hate yaoi and could ignore it. I can only assume from this that these people purposely find yaoi things just to bash them and shove it down the throats of others. Hypocritical, much? Because, honestly, I don't see slash fans going on to straight pics nearly as much as anti-slash people go on to yaoi pics and bashing. So you've all basically proved my point. Congrats.

EDIT 6: As ~SamuraiGurl put it, you may think slash fans are mindless retards, but at least they're enjoying what they do. So, kids, if you don't like it, go find something you do like, like het. Or tentacles!

EDIT 7: I honestly didn't plan to make this many edits in the beginning. Some things may have gotten lost since then. Reminder: The basic message was that yaoi fangirls have lives/ an intelligence outside of slash and take note that you will find mindless fans in almost everything. That was supposed to be it, basically. But....wow....things got more blown up than I thought. With basically everything. And about something so hideously trivial. I didn't mean for this to be a that big of a deal but....yeah....shit happens...

Not only that, but not one anti-yaoi/yaoi hater comment on this piece has been intelligent. Not one. And it's the yaoi fans that they claim are so brain-dead that are taking them rationally on this one instead of saying things like "most of you are retards because you have different tastes."

And honestly, how do you know what the creator wants or does not want just because you don't like something? If I were the creator and people slashed my original creations, well shit, I'd be downright flattered that people were writing fanfiction about my work at all, let alone having fun with my creations.

EDIT 8: I use the term "yaoi" because more people seem familiar with that and others confused "slash" with the guitarist from Guns n' Roses amongst many other things.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Inspired by all those pieces that bash and unfairly assume that yaoi fangirls are mindless zombies.
I know every fanbase has it's fair share of overzealous morons but c'mon. It's absurd to assume that just because a girl enjoys yaoi/slash and pairing two guys that it's all she can think about in life and that every sentence that comes out of her mouth is yaoiyaoiyaoi. A lot of times it's just a preference. And to assume that someone's a blathering idiot because of that.....well....then what the hell does that make you...?
And the vast majority of slash/yaoi fangirls are perfectly aware that the guys they slash will never end up with them. They just don't care. Because, honestly, they're still enjoying themselves.
And frankly, I find slash far more acceptable than inserting any mary-sue or self-insert or, hell, even yourself into every fandom that you come across or just so happen to partake in.
So think about that. You may not like slash/yaoi but at least the fangirls have the decency to slash things that exist in the same universe/realm/world/fandom/place/whatever most of the time without inserting something totally foreign like maybe an author's surrogate or the like.
And, yes, I know it's another yaoi stamp but I felt that this had to be said.
Meh. I don't usually care, don't bother others unless they're bothering me. I just get a bit irked at times when it's plastered everywhere at all times and is unavoidable. But hey, that's why I don't look at the popular section anymore.
I just like to think I can respect the way an author/artist/whatever has things. I like something, I generally try to respect who made it. But hey, I know a lot of people aren't like that. x=x
"have the decency to slash things that exist in the same universe/realm/world/fandom/place/whatever most of the time without inserting something totally foreign like maybe an author's surrogate or the like."
I saw something once.... Tom Riddle and Indiana Jones.
Made me die a little inside.
Tom Riddle and Indiana Jones... :iconblankstareplz:
Well, to be fair, I have seen Catwoman x Rorschach.
Made me die a little inside. :/
LOL I can't stand fan-slash or fan-porn XD; because as an artist it feels disrespectful and exploitative. If a person keeps it to themselves I don't mind but I see too much shoving into people's faces and insisting it's the 'right way' and all that other bullshit as if they're trying to steal the character's rights and claim they know more than their creator.
However I don't mind people who like yaoi in general, because who is one to say yaoi is bad but hetero isn't? The original stories with original characters I've seen make the characters look like real human beings with real feelings instead of the sex-object, feitsh bullshit a lot of people usually make it into or mistake it for. A friend of mine is gay and sadly a lot of fantards see him as simply a sex object and think his life is some perverted gay porn -_-;
I have yaoi loving friends and they don't even talk about it, nor are they perverts. I notice this happens in most fandoms and the generalization needs to stop. It's getting out of hand. Sonic for example, back when I was a kid if you liked Sonic or whatever you were into gaming - now you're a 'furry' and you must be into bestiality and all that other shit. Talk about raping innocence huh? 8D;
I see where you're coming from.
I don't think it's so much "claiming they know more than the creator" than the fans just trying to have fun with pairings. You also gotta keep in mind that there are fans of het who do the same. :/
I feel for your friend. :( Today, it's like labels like "gay/lesbian" make it seem as though that person's life completely revolves around their sexuality and that there's nothing beyond that.
While not as much of a Sonic fan as I used to be, I'm with you on that one. XD ED certainly doesn't help. D8
Not only is it BAD yaoi....It's bad pedo-yaoi.
I've seen that around as well. But seriously, something like that truly annoys me. D: Rorschach is pretty much asexual, he'd probably beat anyone down who tries to do anything to him. -flail-
...like seventeen-year-old Tom Riddle with 50-year-old Indiana...something along those lines....? :iconwhutplz:
It's unavoidable, I'm afraid.
We need more asexual heroes. Seriously. :iconwthplz:
Oh I know about the hetero slashing - I was talking about it as a whole. It's a problem for some because a lot of OCs are personal persona's of the artist... so imagine them doing something you'd never do or agree with - it's very very insulting.
I've seen some people get really nasty about it "so and so does whatever the fuck I tell them to" kinda thing. It's so disrespectful to the artist.
LOL XD Well gotta remember who fuels ED - retarded people with too much time and nothing better to do than judge everyone else to make themselves feel self worth 8D Some ED leeches I used to know are like... almost 30 now. One troll I met was over 30, married and had 3 kids. I often question the 'evolution' of human kind. :no:
I totally agree with this statement. Me, along with a lot of my friends, like yaoi. And we are definitely not mindless retards. It's just those yaoi fans that, for lack of better words, overdue it that make all other yaoi fans look bad.
I also totally agree that yaoi is WAY better then inserting yourself or a Mary-sue. You can't just magically transport to your favorite anime world while going out for Chinese food. I swear I see that all the time on Fanfiction.net. And Mary-sues...don't even get me started. And you know what else is just dandy? When people make up siblings for canon characters.
This did happen.
:iconin-the-machine:
Oh yeah, the whole "this character is my puppet" sort of thing. :( It IS insulting, sad thing is, sometimes the original creator does it, too. Doesn't make for a good story/art at all.
Over 30 and writing ED articles....I shouldn't be suprised but it's a bit sad...I mean....
Yeah. .___.
At least Uncyclopedia wasn't entirely devoted to put-downs.
Can't stand that.
