Saw this floating about Tumblr. As far as hilarious instances of theft goes, this is the motherload. A particularly colorful individual decides to steal art on video, not only claiming other people's OC's as their own, but also putting "my crappy art" in the video description. Funny how that "crappy" art was apparently attractive enough for them to steal.
(Protip: if you're going to commit art theft, next time make sure you at least steal from artists who aren't widely recognized on the web and popular art web sites).

And the worst part of it is that she called it her CRAPPY art. Really? Way to completely devalue the work that other people put in.

Thinking about it, it was probably just her trying to sound genuine. It's common for artists to call their art crappy (you are your own worst critic), so she was probably trying to fit in to make it seem natural! I don't see a whole lot of artists going "Look at this AMAZING piece by me!"

Most of the stuff I post here is usually just my rough concept work that I happened to color. The rest is done on a completely different scale. My quick sketch style is way different from my professional one. Yet she still has waaaaay too many forms of linework to have made them all herself. I've seen many of them. She's a joke.

I am so confused at what I am watching. That's the emotion I am getting from this: Confusion. Purely confusion. I can't understand why she is doing this. Why video too? It has got to be one of the dumbest ways to art thieving.

Her "Russian" is the only other thing that is making me want to punch something.

It's obvious she's lying. The way she describes the drawings, like she's not sure of what she's saying, a very insecure voice and movements, often calling her "own art" crap various times in a lower tone and often being all "oh wait I'm lookin' for my best drawings" trying to reassure us that is "her art". She also just flicks the drawing to the camera and just quickly passes on to something else but then "remembers" to talk about the "materials" and "techniques" used. I mean, the times I've seen people talk about their OC's/art they know what they're saying about them and have a certain fluidity.

This is art theft on a whole new level of pathetic.

Oh god why do people like this exist. I'm kind of laughing just because she's so awkward and I can't believe someone would be stupid enough to think that they would just get away with this.

I think this is the first time I've ever seen anyone do this while on video, though.

I'm glad my drawings are not good enough to be stolen like this.

What's even more sickening is how she's joking around about it and genuinely sounds like she thinks this is "cute" and acceptable. I don't care is she's fifteen or sixteen, or whatever. She's completely old enough to know better and this is sick. And she may even be selling some of those works.

When I was 16 I was drawing my own shit. I hate when people use the youth of an art thief to excuse them. I never, at any point in my life, pointed to something someone else drew and said, "I drew this!", and I will never understand what drives them to do that. I don't understand how a compliment on something you didn't do makes you feel good about yourself.

I was just telling my boyfriend that if someone came up to me and said my dog looks beautiful, and that I did a good job grooming him, NO PART OF ME would feel good about that statement, since I don't groom my dog. Now, if I HAD groomed my dog, I'd feel great! So I just...I don't get it, I don't understand how compliments on things they didn't do make them happy, and I don't think I ever will. It has to be some kind of mental illness, but it's hard for me to be gentle with art thieves.
(The reason I thought of the grooming comparison is because I know the art thieves can't draw, so I was trying to think of something I might get complimented for that *I* can't do, to try to see it from their point of view, and that was the first thing that came to mind) xD

...And if she's selling the art god damn do I hope she gets into some legal trouble.
If you have to learn the hard way, then so be it.

it's like a really bad joke you just have to laugh at. That is so poorly pulled off art theft, my only response is to be amused by the fact that this person probably didn't see through how obvious their own farce is.

I really can't even be that upset at her because she is so painfully, cripplingly awkward. Like, it's not even infuriating, it's just sad.

Of course, she also didn't steal my art so it's an entirely different can of worms for me.

Oh god.
Oh dear god I KNOW this person. She goes to my school.
I always had the slight suspicion that what she was drawing wasn't hers, as she claimed that Hanna's Not A Boy's Name was actually made by her and did some research and found out that it wasn't. At all.
And for her to actually do this, too? Holy crap, I didn't even think she had actually posted up videos of her thieving and claiming that those arts are her's.
I just can't comprehend the level of stupidity she has. Does she have no moral values when it comes to stealing other peoples' arts?
And what's worse is that I actually know this person.
I KNOW her. Ugh.

Seriously, I knew even this couldn't have been a troll. The fact she's genuinely claimed HINABN was "made" by her in real life, too? Did anyone react to that as well?
That comic is popular as all hell. I can't even begin to fathom how she figured she's get by with this.

You don't know how shocked I was to actually see her make a video and people to talk about it.

One of her friends was so gullible to it and genuinely thinks she had made HINABN. Once I found out that HINABN was clearly not hers, I just avoided her. No, no one seemed to actually notice. I think it's because no one really knew about the webcomic, and the only other person who's actually obsessed with it (The "Raine" girl that she mentions a whole lot in her video) is too gullible to see that HINABN was not made by her. I'm not sure whether I actually want to tell her that what she "draws" is not hers, but since no one else seems to know about the art she steals, I don't know whether people would believe me.
It's what's so horrid about the whole thing. She actually thinks that she made HINABN even though it's one of the most popular webcomics on the web. I just can't understand it.

Fuck. I wanted to learn Russian so I could train all my dogs to only respond to Russian commands, but if they're gonna be sitting and staying for every Russiaboo on the block then there goes that plan.

Oh, if you want to train your dogs in Russian then go for it. In no way do I mean to discourage those who wish to learn Russian or engage in learning about the culture or anything of the sort (heck, one of my parents had to learn a bit of Russian for a job).
But some people apparently treat Russian and/or Germany like a new Japan (this has been going on for a while, but I don't think it gets nearly as much notice as weeaboos do, possibly because the Japan ones are more common). And for really seemingly ridiculous/shallow-seeming reasons.

So, before we know it, in a few years, people on the web are gonna be using Google Translate to make Russian sentences and constantly screaming "milyĭ" out of nowhere? Fantastic.

Well, I've definitely noticed that we've got a decent Russian and Ukrainian population on the site, and without mentioning some of the more obvious ones, there seems to be a lot of talent in that bunch. I think people might be beginning to notice this, too.

I'm not talking about the Russian or Ukrainian populace, I mean that a sizable number of people are obsessing over it in a borderline way, sort of like a counterpart to the Japanese weeaboos.
(I know I've seen a number of people on here who basically had the mentality, "omg this anime has Russian and NAZIS IM GONNA SQUEAL!111 XDXDXDXD")

Well, I'm mainly saying that with this growing trend of Russian and Ukrainian talent on the web, people are starting to get more obsessed with their culture as a reaction to them, some of said reactions being a bit like said weeaboo behavior.

(Next thing you know, at best, they're gonna be copying those Russian smileys.)
