This has been bothering me for some time now, and I've seen this sort of behavior even before I joined dA, but some folks honestly need to stop acting like artists who happen to draw fan art or fan comics for "popular" series automatically makes them "cheap" or that they're somehow shallow people because of it. People can actually, you know, like a series that's popular and end up wanting to draw fan works because they want to. Popular or well-known works or series are going to have lots of fans, so it's not exactly unnatural that more people might be inclined to draw fan art for certain series. It's one thing if you're not a fan of something popular, because it's completely normal for people to have preferences, but when you're just being dismissive of someone else entirely or looking down on them just because the subject matter they choose to draw is "popular" then it makes you look petty and/or jealous. Because, let's be honest, there are people who get really pissed and uptight just because others draw fan art of a series they like and get more attention for it and they don't.
Yes, sometimes people do silly things for views or to increase their chances of making more money through cons or whatever, but most of the time it's pretty much someone who likes a series enough to want to make tribute for it themselves so they do that by drawing fan works or comics and meeting others who are into the same thing.
Likewise, using, "oh i see your gallery is just full of popular art anyway" or "youre just trying to be popular by drawing all this fanart" is a pretty lame excuse that reeks of, "i dont like you and i don't really have an argument but you draw fan works for popular stuff so that automatically gives me the right to dismiss you as someone who is shallow and a sellout and probably just in it for views and internet popularity and youre automatically a lesser artist because of it."
Because it's not like people can just go around being really into popular things, right? Because that just makes them shallow and heaven forbid they put their affection or adoration for something "well-liked" into artistic form to share with others.

A Wonderful Day for Pokemon Art Theft
While browsing, I recently came across a particular blog that takes the Pokemon artwork of other people. But the real kicker? This person will slap their own 'watermarks' onto the works despite the fact that a number of these works already have visibly existing watermarks and signatures.

The Hobbit
I found An Unexpected Journey to be reasonably entertaining. There was action, magic, mystery, rolling landscapes and a good dose of adventure. It's also incredibly lengthy and clocks at nearly three full hours. However, wile I enjoyed a number of the film's aspects, I wouldn't rate it as highly as any of the LOTR films.
The film has a bit of darkness and foreshadowing in it, to be sure, but a part of what adds to the near three-hour runtime is the fact chunks of the film are loaded with seemingly pointless "fluff" and shenanigans that don't do anything to add to the foreshadowing in question or build onto anything more substantial or seriou
Rise of the Guardians
If it weren't for the fact that I'm still blown away by how hard Wreck-It Ralph hit it out of the park, I'd be a lot angrier at how one of the only animated films I was looking forward to in theaters this season ended up falling far flat of my expectations. I was looking forward to ROTG far longer than most films this year, and frankly, even if you didn't consider the hype, it was still fairly borderline mediocre.
The plot is basically about five mythical characters from folklore come together to use their unique abilities to save the day in a fashion reminiscent of the Avengers in order to fight darkness that threatens to cover the globe a
Wreck-It Ralph
I'm not putting any major spoilers in here, but this is....easily the best film I've seen all year. Can't remember the last time I saw an animated film that made me feel happy and sad at the same time (in addition to making me laugh). The closest thing I have to a 'critique' for the film would be that I sort of thought Ralph would explore more than just two other games (Hero's Duty and Sugar Rush) in addition to his own, but otherwise it's really difficult for me to think of anything I didn't enjoy about this film.
Also, just so you know: pop culture references, references everywhere. (and done in a way that was funny and not irritating at

There are two of these now I've seen..you did your first.
And you written less then another person who did this, and yet I still like your point of view better.
